Privacy policy for Loft

Loft collects no personal data and sends nothing to DAHOUSE. The app never contacts a server of ours: we have no user accounts, no database and no online service. Your ideas never leave your device and your iCloud account.

This page still sets out, in detail, what the app writes, where, and what happens to the few exchanges that do exist — with Apple for purchases, and with us if you write to us.

Everything below stays on your iPhone, and in your iCloud space if you have it switched on. None of it is sent to DAHOUSE.

• Your ideas — one plain markdown text file per idea, in one folder per project. These files are yours: you can open, copy or delete them from Apple's Files app, without going through Loft.
• Your list of projects — their names and the date each was last used, in the app's local settings.
• The draft in progress — text typed but not yet filed, kept locally so an interruption (a call, the app closing) does not lose it.
• The destination folder you picked — if you bought Loft Pro, a system bookmark pointing at the folder you selected. The bookmark records its location, not its contents.

Uninstalling the app removes these local settings. The idea files already written stay where they were filed: that is deliberate, they are yours.

By default Loft writes into its own iCloud folder, visible in the Files app. If iCloud Drive is enabled on your device, syncing between your devices is handled by Apple, with your Apple account, under Apple's responsibility. DAHOUSE has no access to that content and cannot read it.

If iCloud is switched off, the files stay on the device, in the Loft folder of the Files app.

Loft Pro is bought through the App Store. The transaction is handled entirely by Apple: DAHOUSE receives no name, no address and no payment data, and has no knowledge of your Apple Account.

On your device, the app asks Apple whether a valid purchase exists, in order to unlock the matching feature. That check is not sent to any DAHOUSE server.

Apple's handling of your data is governed by Apple's own privacy policy.

The absent list is shorter, and it can be verified:

• no trackers, no audience measurement, no analytics;
• no advertising, no advertising identifier;
• no third-party SDK bundled in;
• no artificial intelligence, no text sent to a third-party service;
• no account, no sign-up, no password;
• no access to your contacts, your location or your photo library.

Apart from the App Store and the links you open yourself from the app, Loft connects to nothing.

The « Write to us » button in Settings opens your mail app with a message already containing the Loft version and your system version. Nothing is sent until you press Send yourself, and you can remove those details first.

If you do write to us, we process your email address and the content of your message for the sole purpose of answering you. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in supporting the app. These messages are kept for at most three years after the last exchange, then deleted.

Under the General Data Protection Regulation you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability. In practice these only bear on messages you may have sent us: we hold nothing else.

To exercise them, write to [email protected]. You may also lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL (www.cnil.fr).

The data stored on your device and in your iCloud is under your direct control: you delete it from the Files app or by uninstalling Loft, without asking us.
