Terms of use for Loft

Loft iOS app — last updated: 13 August 2026 · Version française

1. Purpose and publisher

These terms govern the use of the iOS application Loft, published by DAHOUSE, a French simplified joint-stock company with a sole shareholder (SASU), 90 Rue de Garches, 92210 Saint-Cloud, France — SIRET E995227923, Nanterre Trade and Companies Register.

Downloading and using the app means accepting these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.

They complement, and do not replace, Apple's App Store terms, which continue to govern the distribution of the app.

2. What the app does

Loft is for writing an idea down and filing it immediately into the project it concerns. Each idea is written on your device as a plain markdown text file, in a folder named after the project.

The app works without an account, without sign-up and without any connection to a DAHOUSE server. Syncing across your devices, if you use it, is provided by iCloud, an Apple service.

3. Your files are yours

You remain the sole owner of the rights in the text you write in Loft. DAHOUSE acquires no rights over your content, does not access it and cannot read it.

The chosen format is plain markdown, with no proprietary container: your files stay readable and usable by any other software, including if you stop using Loft.

4. Free version and Loft Pro

The app is free. The number of projects and ideas is not limited.

Loft Pro adds the ability to choose the destination folder for your ideas, instead of the folder the app creates. It is offered in two forms, at your choice:

  • a one-time purchase, with no renewal;
  • a monthly subscription, renewed automatically each month until cancelled.

The prices shown in the app prevail, and may vary by country and applicable tax.

5. Payment, renewal and cancellation

All payments are collected by Apple through your App Store account. DAHOUSE processes no banking data.

The monthly subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Cancellation is available at any time from your App Store account settings and takes effect at the end of the period already paid for.

Refund requests are handled by Apple under its own terms. DAHOUSE has no technical ability to refund a purchase made on the App Store.

A purchase already made can be restored on a new device, with the same Apple Account, from the app's settings.

6. Backups

Loft writes your ideas into files, on your device or in your iCloud space. Backing those files up is your responsibility, as with any personal document: DAHOUSE keeps no copy and can therefore restore no lost content.

7. Availability and changes

The app is provided as is. DAHOUSE works to keep it running properly but does not guarantee the complete absence of defects, nor compatibility with every future version of iOS.

Features may change. Should a feature included in Loft Pro be withdrawn, those who already bought it would keep the benefit of it or be informed before the change.

8. Liability

DAHOUSE cannot be held liable for indirect damages arising from use of the app, in particular loss of content caused by a failure of your device, of iCloud or of any other Apple service.

Nothing in these terms limits the rights French law grants to consumers, in particular the statutory guarantee of conformity.

9. Intellectual property

The app, its name, its interface and its graphic elements remain the property of DAHOUSE. You receive a personal, non-exclusive right to use it, with no right to decompile, resell or redistribute it.

10. Personal data

Loft collects no personal data. The details are in the privacy policy for Loft.

11. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, an amicable solution will be sought first, by writing to [email protected].

Failing agreement, consumers may use a consumer mediator free of charge or refer the matter to the European online dispute resolution platform. Competent courts are those designated by the ordinary rules of law.
